The workshop will take place close to the place where Anders Petersen had his first solo exibition in April 1970 - more than fifty years after he showed the results of three years of work in Hamburg-St. Pauli in the Café Lehmitz itself by just sticking the pictures onto the wall.
Anders Petersen is one of the most famous contemporary European photographers. Born in 1944 in Stockholm, where he still lives, he studied photography at the School of Photography in Stockholm and became a good friend of Christer Strömholm. In the past decades, Anders Petersen had countless exhibitions all over the world. He received numerous awards, for example the Swedish Photo Book of the Year Award (1994-96), the Photographer of the Year Award, Arles, France (2003), the Dr. Erich Salomon Award of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie (2008) and the Paris Photo and the Aperture Foundation PhotoBook of the Year Award (2012). His „Café Lehmitz“ work is highly influential in the history of European photography. Anders Petersen was a professor of photography at the School of Photography and Film at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. His most recent workshop with us in Hamburg in March 2023 was a great success.
